Inspirational quotes to get us through the coronavirus shutdown

“Keep calm and carry on.” “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” “Don’t worry, be happy.”

These are the kind of quotes that help us through challenging times. Wars. Political conflicts. Depression. They get repeated and reused over centuries because they contain truth, offer us a new perspective on life and an insight into the future.

“Keep calm and carry on,” has grown in popularity over the years because its message is applicable beyond its original intent.

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”. “A life lived in fear is a life half lived”.

Humourist Erma Bombeck wrote, “worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere.”

Now is the time for a more scientific and analytical approach, as the physicist Marie Curie said: “Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."

Or more simply put, “Be happy, or at least Zen.”

It is Better to be busy than to be busy worrying,” because "Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning how to dance.”

As British Prime Minister Winston Churchill claimed, “If you’re going through hell, keep going.”

Don’t forget to stay positive! Coronavirus has positive effects on the environment:

1) The air is cleaner than it’s been in a long time

2) The huge decline in road traffic, air travel and other business activities across Europe has led to sharp reduction in pollution over several major cities

3) In some parts of Europe, the levels of toxic pollutants in the air have been slashed by a half

What can you do?

  • Wash your hands

  • Stay indoors with your family

  • Read/watch the news and stay informed (don't believe fake news)

  • Do something every day that makes you and others happy!

I really liked the famous quotations from famous people which are relatable to ourselves in the current day facing a global pandemic. Moreover, this post teaches us a lesson about keeping ourselves calm and healthy, which is definitely a great remedy in order to counter on the time when the whole world is throwing a tantrum like this current affair.

I really love this. It's very difficult getting motivated to work or carry on living our lives without our outdoor activities. Without all my outdoor hobbies put on pause I realised how 3/4 of my life was outside the house, I literally felt like my life was over after a month of lockdown.

Motivation has been pouring out from school, social media, radio and television. But none of it is in the form of quotes, so this is something different and I really think it's a great approach being that quotes make logical sense and can be more relatable to compared to the adverts of our well-being during this period.
